What is the difference between a wellness massage and a therapeutic massage?
Therapeutic massage is carried out by a physiotherapist on prescription, in a medical setting.
Wellness massage is a comfort treatment, not a medical one, aimed at relaxation and overall well-being.
At the Mairesia salon, we do not make diagnoses: we take care of you.
Are there any contraindications for wellness massage?
Massage is not recommended if you have a fever, phlebitis, a recent fracture or a skin infection, or if you have had surgery in the last 3 months.
If you’re pregnant, we offer a pregnancy massage for the 2nd trimester onwards.
If in doubt, consult your doctor.
What happens during a session at the Mairesia salon?
You call us, and we arrange a time.
When you arrive, we talk about your needs and where you’re holding tension.
Session length: 1 h or 1 h 30, in a soothing setting: soft lighting, gentle music, air-conditioned salon.
After the session, take a little time to come round gently.
A large glass of water will do you good.
How often should you get a massage?
If you would like to make it a ritual, one session every 2 to 4 weeks is a good rhythm.
But an occasional massage does you good too : just come whenever you feel like it.
